Vroom! Vrooooom!

Well it has certainly been a couple of car infused weekends! Three car shows in just two weekends - I think I'm being turned into a petrol head! Mind you, there's not all that much kicking and screaming against it going on. That's probably due to the fact that two of them were in lovely settings and I was bought food! (Always a good bribing point to remember!)
First it was of to Sandown park for the National Volksworld Show 2009, just down the train tracks from Woking. It was certainly nice to catch the train and have a leisurely stroll, as opposed to driving like we did last year and sit in traffic for nearly an hour! This show was all about VW's, and as per last year it was raining a bit. Ah well at least it meant that you could have a good gander at the cars outside as most folks were out of the rain inside! Do so like the VW campers and one day it would be fabulous to own one!
Next it was off to Goodwood, for their once a month on a Sunday morning Breakfast Club. This one was for Fabulous Family Favourites - from Fords to Flaminas! So after a £9.50 (and worth every penny) full English breakfast it was off meandering around the ground looking at all the lovely cars, and some not so lovely - guess it's all in the eyes of the owners! There's nothing like a vintage car all in their finery to make you go ahhhhh.
And, finally after walking off that delicious breakfast it was off to Arundel Castle, which was also holding a MG car show in it's grounds! This time is was a quick glance at the cars while heading up to the castle and exploring it and the surrounding grounds first. Then back to the car for some admiring. I never knew that there were so many different MG types, and now of course I do! So thank you Mr S for slowly turning me into a petrol head! I just hope I don't start quoting letters and numbers, that'd be just too much! Yes, that's a SQ28.0 thingy bob wotsit you know!

And I thought I Liked to Eat Strange Things!

Well it's been a while since there was a Miss Yo Yo update, so thought I'd kick it off with her latest "I'm gonna rip it outta your fingers and eat it" food item. They were Mini Cheddars!
Well I shouldn't be surprised really considering she goes nuts over twisties, burger rings, cheezels (yes you can get these in the UK though for the most exorbitant price imaginable!), and they are fairly similar in cheesiness!
Though apparently it's all possibly down to her being an oriental. Though I'm hoping it's not pica! That would not be a good thing at all.
Miss Yo Yo has a thing for mushroom soup, ice cream, cheese, pringles, crispy duck, fish from the fish'n'chip shop and I'm sure many as yet not discovered food items. As of course her usual cat biscuits and wet food!
With it also now being lighter earlier and also warmer, Miss Yo Yo has started her in / out, in / out thing! It's not too bad if during the day and warm, though if night at time it's a right pain. Not only is it still cold out, you get all the newly emerging bugs coming in! Mind you, at least Miss Yo Yo will go after them and try and eat them! She sure hates those blowflies! And they do seem to make a satisfying crunch!
It's hard to believe that she's now eight (though could be seven - I can never rightly remember) and the vet is wanting her to have a MOT every six months now, as opposed to a year, as she is considered middle aged! Crikey! Not sure how that managed to happen that's for sure. Doesn't seem that long ago her and Mungus were first experiencing their first time outdoors - plus they also looked like little bats! Bless. Some of you readers may not have seen / met Mungus, bless his little "run up three flights of stairs into the dresser shake my head like a looney tune and do it again" little heart, so I've included a picture of him. He's the one at the front, and the one that the guys in the house named Mongrel! Mind you, that's probably better than his cattery name of Sharau Black as Night! And we're not going to mention Miss Yo Yo's cattery name, no not at all! Well not if I want to sleep past 7am without being dived bomebed from the window (I'm sure she can read!)!

Let's Dance!

Do the Jive! Do the touch up shuffle! In fact, it's a bounce off the walls and ceiling kinda dance!
And why do you ask, am I to do this? Well... some of you are aware that at Christmas last year I was yet again put upon at work. Not only was I 'bossing' two Directors, with teams amounting to 55 people (and we wont mention the fact that they were not replacing one of my assistants who went on maternity leave) I had to pick up not only another Director and his team of 20, but the CEO again! GAWD DANG IT! Supposedly it was until the first week in January, when a temporary replacement was to be hired. Then the big cheese decides he wants someone permanent! GAWD DANG IT!
So here I am with four big cheeses and a team of 75.. just call me wonder woman, and super woman, and bionic woman, and batgirl! Oh yes, and also supporting a smaller team of five who weren't having an assistant re-hired due to the recruitment freeze! GAWD DANG IT!
Finally this week it was all over, well nearly over.. yes, a replacement for the surplus Director, his team and the CEO has been found! Oh yeah, baby! Yippee! Woohoo! Yeahaaaaaa!
And I have to say that I feel a lot lighter and happier. Though am rather peeved at the people at work who are saying to the new lady that the CEO is a difficult one (to put it mildly) and now have her totally stressed and worried about it! GAWD DANG IT!
Though I am putting this our of my head, it's Friday after all and I'm going to enjoy the bliss of having just two Directors, a team of 55... er 60, and knowing that I survived!

I survived
Oh, as long as I know how to love
I know I'll stay alive
I've got all my life to live
I've got all my love to give
And I've survived
I I've survived, hey hey!
