Da Da Da Da, Bang, Crash!

Managed to score some corporate box tickets to Carmena Burena on Saturday night!
There we were in the wonderful Royal Albert Hall (RAH), in the front row of box listening to 400 choristers singing Caremena Burena with a nigh on full orchestra (everything from the triangle, to the flute, to the double bass, to a gong to the pipe organ!).
I've been to the RAH several times and always admired the pipe organ there (it's huge and the largest in the UK!) and I have to say that when it's a full volume - it's loud! Nearly jumped out of my skin when those keys were met!
It certainly is a thrill for the senses seeing classical music played live, television just can not do it justice, and I highly recommend experiencing it at least once, even if you are not a classical music type!

Delays and Damp!

Well autumn is well and truly here, with winter no doubt close behind.
Woke up this morning to a dense fog that has that seep into your bones and takes to afternoon cup of tea feel to it. Meant that it was one of those surreal journeys to work on the train - trees, houses, horses, people looming out of the fog as the train sped past.
It also meant that there were delays at the airports and lots of crashes - for some reason people seem to think they can either drive the same speed or drive slower than a tortoise! Bit like when it rains in LA after months and months and cars go sliding all over the place as folks don't slow down for the conditions. Heck, I don't even know how to drive yet I do know that you need to change speeds and distance from the car in front of you depending on the conditions!
The garden is in rather a weird mood. Some of it thinks it's still summer, others the autumn, some winter and a few bulbs think it's spring and are making their way up already!
All I can say is that I hope we have a really cold winter to sort it all out, plus it kills all the pesky bugs!

Aching Muscles!

No, not from exercise... from seeing the very funny Mr Billy Connolly in Brighton last night. Hilarious it was! Funny antidotes about everything from the one-way system in Birmingham to getting dressed for guests to keeping a dog from barking on a film set.
Have watched Billy doing his thing on tv, and to finally see him in person was awesome! Two hours of non-stop laughter! Love his attitude as well... doesn't care what anyone thinks about him, and as long as you don't shove beliefs, laws, etc etc down his throat, he's cool with you. Probably due to his age (dyes his hair white you know) and quite apt for his tour called "Too old to die young".
If you can get tickets to go and see him, I highly recommend it!
