Miss Yo Yo's Three Legged Adventure - Part 2

Well it was off to the vet again this morning, thank goodness, after a weekend of grumpy moew meoW meOW mEOW MEOW (I want out NOW WOMAN) and filthy looks!
Miss Yo Yo was poked and prodded and had her temperature taken again to be declared on the mend, nearly 100% herself. Though a small lump was found and noted for future reference.
Yay!
Though Miss Yo Yo is still not allowed out for another couple of days.. ear plugs here we come!

Miss Yo Yo's Three Legged Adventure - Part 1

Well what a fun night I had to start off the weekend. Was out putting the vege scraps in the compost when Miss Yo Yo comes scrabbling over the fence and runs into the house. Now I say run in the loosest sense of the word, more like a three legged hobble!
Oh gawd, I thought, what she's done now. So it was chase her madly in the house to find her lying on the floor looking at us like nothing was wrong. Though wrong it was!
It was the mad touch everywhere, where's the blood, where's the bone sticking out, where's the bite mark, finger squiching Miss Yo Yo all over touch. All that was found was a tiny piece of top fur/skin layer missing from her right back paw and nothing else. Only trouble was when she stood up it was only to three legs! Gawd dang it!
So a quick call to the emergency vet, and after describing what her symptoms were it was decided to leave it to the morning. Meanwhile I had a broken sleep and bizarre dreams!
The vet managed to have a first thing appointment free so along we walked (tis only a five minute walk to the vet, yay!), Miss Yo Yo meowing her head off and myself all stressed like. Her foot had all swollen up and she was only putting the merest hint of pressure on it!
As the vet wasn't any the wiser to what could have happened (cat fight, caught her foot, hit by something) it was decided for anti-inflammatory and antibiotic jabs, plus the obligatory thermometer up the butt and see what happens until a follow-up appointment on Monday.
So back home it was with a subdued Miss Yo Yo and myself a few pounds lighter, though not as much as I thought. Though if she has to have an x-ray on Monday, well then that's a whole other £300 to £500 story!
So now Miss Yo Yo is feeling sorry for herself on the faux fur blanket on the bed, though not as sorry when she realises she can't go outside, at least until the next vet visit, will be missing breakfast on Monday morning and has to put up with the cat box being in the open all weekend as I can't be bothered putting it away!

Part 2 shortly...

Bleurgh!

Why is it when you don't even have the hint of a cold when you go outside and it's freezing out your nose starts to run?!
Is it some kind of nose protection system or is it's nature's way of saying neener neener neener you've got snot running all down your face!
