Harvest Delights, Yum!
Tis such a scrumptious mouthfulness of delight to be able to indulge in your vegetable and fruits of the summer in the middle of winter! & just as well that there's room in the freezer too! I cooked up a lovely pot of chilli, with beans, capscicum, chilli and basil that was grown earlier in the year. It was yum! It also saves money... there was about two months worth of tomatoes during July/August that did not have to be bought. There were also so many grapes that I didn't mind sharing them with the birds and the bees! Plus they distratec the critters from the hanging basket of strawberries! I still have some rhubarb left, which is shortly going to be turned into a rhubarb crumble, with lashings of cream, yum! Some things didn't grow though... the carrots that started off so well suddenly disappeared overnight one evening, the squash grew lovely flowers and that was it's effort, while the peas only managed one pod! Ah well, at least they were tried.
I know that I can grow beans and tomatoes though...
