Landscapes, Gyoza and Filming the Empire State Building!
What a wonderful afternoon that was with Miss S!
Headed up to the Southbank to see the Landscape Photographer of the Year 2008 exhibition. What wonderful pictures had been taken of nature at not only it's most breathtaking and beautiful but dangerous and beautiful. There were the classic sunset photographs, then the not so classic photograph of the Angel of the North's foot, as well as a category for those that had been taken on a mobile phone. All just wonderful and a reminder of what amazing scenery the British Isles have on offer.
After exhausting ourselves looking at all those lovely landscapes it was decided that we needed sustenance and it was off to Wagga Mammas for a well deserved glass of wine and scrummy food! We'd spotted another exhibition on our way to Wagga Mammas so decided to head off to see it.
Then spent an interesting times visiting the Andy Warhol: Other Voices, Other Rooms exhibition. There were the well known Marilyn Munroe, Campbell Soup and Brillo Boxes on display. Also on display was the famous Empire State Building film (though I wasn't going to stay there for all eight hours of it!), and various other films that Mr W had done. What was a bit weird though were the tape recordings of conversations of his friends and films of them. Now if I had a friend who did that.. I don't think I'd be able to cope!
